Science or Computer group in Grade 9? A simple guide for parents
What each Matric group leads to, which one suits your child and how to decide together.
By Mr. Kamran Bhatti (sample author) | Friday 9 October
In Grade 9 every student chooses a group: Science (with Biology) or Computer Science. Both are good choices. The right one depends on your child's interests and plans after Matric.
Choose Science (Biology) if
- Your child wants to study medicine, dentistry or pharmacy
- They enjoy living things and learning by reading
- They plan FSc Pre-Medical after Matric
Choose Computer Science if
- Your child enjoys logic, puzzles and computers
- They plan ICS, FSc Pre-Engineering or IT
- They like hands-on practical work
