Matric board exams: an 8-week plan that actually works

How to split the syllabus, when to start past papers and how to avoid the last-week panic.

By Sir Kashif Mehmood, Bright Minds Academy (demo)

Eight weeks is enough time to revise the whole Matric syllabus, if you plan it. The secret is to revise in small pieces and test yourself every week.

Weeks 1 to 5: revise and test

  • Two chapters of each subject a week
  • Make one page of short notes per chapter
  • Solve the exercise questions again, without looking
  • Take a 30-minute test every Sunday

Weeks 6 and 7: past papers

Solve the last 5 years of board papers in exam time. Mark them with the marking scheme, then redo every question you lost marks on.

Week 8: rest and revise notes

Only read your short notes and sleep 8 hours. A fresh mind gets more marks than a tired one.
